Sourced entirely from vineyards in the Eden Valley, the FDR1A “Fine Dry Red” is an example of Yalumba’s commitment to, and mastery of, the quintessential Australian Cabernet and Shiraz blend. Fruit to craft this wine is picked from vineyards in Eden Valley’s beautiful high country.

"Deep, dark red colour with a strong purple tinge. The bouquet shows leaf and mint and grassy notes. There's a stalky, green bean-like note as well, and creosote which doesn't detract. It's somewhat straightforward, while the flavour has good depth and length assisted by ample tannins which are well-measured and moderately firm. It has concentration and would repay cellaring." 90pts | Huon Hooke | The Real Review

"The first edition of this wine was the 1974, the worst SA vintage ever encountered, marking the first outbreak of downy mildew that caught vignerons completely unprepared; FDR1A was one of few wines to succeed, giving it immortality. This wine comes from one of the best recent vintages, spending 16 months in French oak, with vibrant fruit and immaculate tannins." 95pts | Halliday Wine Companion
