A medium to lean bodied Amber Ale. Inspired by French farmhouse ale traditions, the Biere De Garde gets its name from storing (Garde-ing) the beer. This results in a well rounded Amber ale, like a Saison but with more malt character. 

"As for the 2024 Biere De Garde, this amber farmhouse ale is all about subtle bread / toffee malts and gentle fruity spices (I'm going with ripe apricot for the former, allspice for the latter), all wrapped up with a dry, lightly phenolic finish." Crafty Pint

Beer Style Backgrounder - Biere de Garde

Bière de Garde (French for "beer for keeping") is a traditional farmhouse ale from the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region of Northern France. Historically brewed in winter and spring to avoid summertime spoilage, it was stored (or "guarded") in cellars to mature, resulting in a smooth, malt-focused beer with a relatively high alcohol content (typically 6% to 8.5% ABV).
Expect notes of toasted bread, biscuit, caramel, and toffee. While yeast may add subtle spicy or fruity esters, the overall character is smooth and often slightly sweet before a dry finish. It often undergoes lagering (cold conditioning) for several weeks or months, which contributes to its refined and mellow character.

We use Australia Post for most deliveries but also Challenge Logistics for same day deliveries into Melbourne.

What If I Won’t Be Home?

No order will be left unattended unless you authorise us to do so. If you would like the postie to leave the order, then please tell us in the delivery instructions buy saying something like "leave at back door". If there is no one home and no instruction, the courier will leave a card letting you know to pick the parcel up at the nearest post office.
