King River Brewing's single 'Wet Hop' releases has been an absolute highlight and we only have a few cases available of each. We'll also be pouring both beers over May plus the 'Australian Independant' IPA release for 2026. The 2025 was the best IPA we tapped last year and we have high expectations for this year's version.
And.........a well deserved shout out for King River's 'Mabon', Australia's best Doppelbock. Coffee, toffee and plenty of malts. Good, but sensible, power in the palate at 7.5%.

Turon Adelaide Hills Pinot Gris 2025 $30
"This is the impressive venture of Turon and Alex White. Working for several small wineries while studying at university, Turon realised the potential of the ever-varying site climates within the Adelaide Hills. His overseas winemaking experience while completing his degree was appropriately lateral, with vintages in Oregon & Hungary. Out of this came a highly detailed minimal-intervention, lo-fi approach to winemaking. The pair built a small winery in Lenswood in ’17 and planted a low-yielding, high-density vineyard in ’20, which is managed with biodynamic and organic principles in mind. The 1ha under vine is all pinot noir at this stage, specifically Abel, Pommard, MV6 and 777 clones." Halliday Wine Companion
Best Oz Gris I've had for some time. Smart, mostly dry, good depth in the palate. Very serious style for Australia. Not fruity when compared to the likes of Mornington Peninsula examples, rather this is very textual.

Mishrit Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2025 $36
We are very very lucky to get our hands on a small allocation of uber-micro start-up Mishrit.
The 2025 Pinot Noir is a single vineyard offering from 27yr old vines from the well established Coombe Farm in the Yarra Valley. Left on skins for 2 weeks before pressing off to 2/3/4yr French oak.
Some warmth early but very pleasant. Sseems light early but really grows on the palate; mildly spicey finish. Easy going.
Only 55 cases produced.

Stephen Pannell has twice won Australia’s most prestigious wine award, the Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy – most recently in 2014 for his 2013 Adelaide Hills Syrah – and his reputation is further hinted at by his being named one of the 50 most influential contributors to the world of wine by Decanter Magazine.
In 2014, Steve won his second Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy and further cemented his relationship with the great grapegrowing region that is South Australia by setting up a cellar door in the heart of McLaren Vale. His local legend status has been confirmed again and again, winning the Bushing Trophy for best red wine of show in McLaren Vale no less than four times: 2011, 2015, 2016 and 2018.
"Steve Pannell makes no bones about this being inspired by Bandol Rosé – Domaine Tempier in particular. This comes off some of the property’s original vines, dating back to the late 1800s. Direct press with minimal skin contact, then natural fermentation in tank for two weeks; raised in neutral puncheons for eight weeks on lees. Red fruited, with cranberry, redcurrant & wild strawberry, there’s also orange rind, pink grapefruit and mandarin, wisps of white peppery spice and some subdued florals. It’s a wine of import and ready charm, both expansive and refined, dry, subtly but purposely structured, and just such a delight." 96pts | Marcus Ellis | Halliday Wine Companion
